Find out the service delivery impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blackwoods have announced homelessness support service, inCommunity, as a recipient of a generous donation of a year’s supply of hand sanitiser valued at over $1,000.

The leading Australian industrial and safety supplies provider selected inCommunity, among entries from across Australia, to receive one of 20 prizes on offer through their ‘Win a Year’s Supply of Hand Sanitiser for Your Club or Community Group’.

inCommunity provides a range of programmes to support those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This includes mobile housing support, a women’s drop-in service, homeless outreach, a crisis accommodation programme for young people aged 16-21, and transitional housing, as well as the Tenancy Skills Institute and programmes delivered in partnership with other community organisations.

The winning entry was submitted by a supportive community member employed by Rockpress, Rocklea Pressed Metal.

The COVID-19 pandemic has seen the organisation respond to an exponential increase in the number of people requesting support to secure or maintain their housing.

The hand sanitiser will be used across all of inCommunity’s programmes, supporting the delivery of the organisation’s COVID safe plans and ensuring the health and wellbeing of all clients and staff as they carry out their vital work.

The donation will also allow for resources currently used to ensure COVID-19 hygiene and safety to be redirected towards supporting the organisation’s core work in the community.
