As we move through National Homelessness Week, we continue to seek to raise awareness of the experience of homelessness.
We recognise the strength and courage it takes to seek support during tough times, especially for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
Our inCommunity Connect team is committed throughout the year to inspire Ipswich community members experiencing these challenges as they work towards securing longer-term and sustainable housing for themselves.
In the past year, and in the context of the current housing crisis, we are proud to share that 65% of young people and 88% of adults the inCommunity Connect team worked with were in secure and safe accommodation at the close of their support period.
Via our Dignity Food Relief program, in partnership with charity Dignity, we delivered 6,500 delicious frozen meals to ease 248 households finding it difficult to make ends meet, impacting their household’s food budget.
And our Women’s Club continues to thrive as a safe space, building connection and social engagement for our wonderful attendees.
Here at inCommunity, we credit each of the people we seek to support for their resilience and extraordinary efforts as they achieve what they may not have first thought possible.
